Dental Care Mt Eliza uses two types of dental lasers. The first is a gentle soft tissue-cutting laser, which is gentler than the sharpest scalpel! It promotes healing and reduces postoperative discomfort. The second is a healing laser, which we have been using since 2007.

Out of approximately 4000 published articles of which over 300 are in the field of dentistry alone, over 90% support the efficacy of lasers.
Lasers work by stimulating the mitochondria, which are the powerhouses of the cell. They increase the speed of healing and recovery, reduce inflammation, stabilize cell membranes and decrease pain.
Low-level laser therapy (LLLT) is an effective and supportive addition to healing and treating chronic pain in dentistry. It is incredibly helpful for muscle, joint and nerve pain.
The use of a laser can decrease morbidity after surgery, and reduces the need for anesthetics. Because of the cauterization of tissue there will be little bleeding following soft tissue procedures, and some of the risks of alternative electrosurgery procedures are avoided.
We believe in evaluating new and potentially useful techniques and equipment, then determining the best tools for our patient’s treatment. We are certainly advancing along side new technology and methods; we invite anyone to ask questions so you too can get the latest information about your dental experience.
