Dentistry - It's a continuing journey, not a destination.

Mon, 19th Aug 2019

We need to be ever vigilant about those highly sugary and carbohydrate foods. Real, hard raw food chewing is practically nonexistent and cleaning with a tooth brush mandatory.

Teeth are for life, and back in the short brutal Neolithic hunter gatherer days, teeth didn’t need cleaning due to the coarse diet and low sugar intake – so decay rates and gum issues were low and crowding pretty well nonexistent due to correct form following the hard work of chewing function.

This is no longer the case – we need to be ever vigilant about those highly sugary and carbohydrate foods. Real, hard raw food chewing is practically nonexistent and cleaning with a tooth brush mandatory.

Facial growth and development is almost always underdeveloped, hence the number of people needing orthodontic and wisdom teeth removal – over 80% of children in western culture now need orthodontics.

So if you want great teeth for life and you don’t want to be a hunter and gatherer, then talk to us about your dental journey – the soft modern way!
